Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. (1 Tim. 6:17-18)

Investment #4 - Focused Thinking

Today, I continue my series "7 Investments that place you in the flow of God's wealth." You can see all of the related blog posts in the series here.

"It is wise to direct your anger towards problems - not people; to focus your energies on answers - not excuses." - Peter McWilliams

Jesus said, "What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives! How many times do I have to go over these things? (Matthew 17:17, The Message)

The Poor Christian has little to no focus or scattered thinking.

The Rich Christian has tremendous focus on life, purpose, goals, and ideas.

God has designed each one of us with unique talents and abilities. The key is to grow and expand in the areas in which God has gifted us. The world's wealthiest people have capitalized on ONE great idea, for example:
  • Robert Allen - Nothing Down (Real Estate)
  • Rick Warren - The Purpose Driven Life
  • Bill Gates - Operating system and software for the personal computer
  • Warren Buffet - Business investing
  • Dave Ramsey - Debt freedom

I would encourage you to spend time daily thinking through and writing down ideas that match your interests, education, and knowledge - keep a journal. Read and research ideas that you have; today, we have the awesome power of the Internet to help us!

So what's your one BIG IDEA that can make this world a better place for the Kingdom, and in turn make you a Rich Christian?
